During the film’s promotions, the actor candidly spoke about how the role demanded her to gain 15 kilos of weight. “Imtiaz sir told me to gain 15 kgs and said there would be no makeup on my face. I had to look my worst in Chamkila and I said, ‘I will do it,” she told Bollywood Hungama in a recent interview. In several videos from the birthday celebrations, we see Gere partaking in the events with followers of the 14th Dalai Lama. “I was able to meet his Holiness Dalai Lama in Dharamshala 40 years ago, which clearly changed my life. So I am here today to commemorate and inaugurate this incredible building that houses his lifetime work,” the actor said.
