Microsoft announced two new laptops on Monday, just a day ahead of its Build 2024 developer conference. The new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro are powered by Snapdragon X Elite or the X Plus ARM processor, and these are the company’s first set of personal computers shipping with the Copilot+ feature.

While Intel and AMD-powered Copilot+ PCs are on the horizon, Microsoft’s partnership with Qualcomm underscores a shift away from x86 dominance, leveling the playing field for ARM in the Windows ecosystem.
