As per its medical bulletin, the hospital on Tuesday had 12 men and four women under treatment for heat-related illness. Among them five are said to be patients with comorbidity. While the hospital has seen two heat-related deaths on May 27, it has discharged three patients in the last 24 hours. The hospital’s Resident Medical Officer, Dr D Helaiya, said: “We have referred six suspected heatwave deaths to the District Death Audit Committee between May 22 and 27. Among these, one was referred on May 22, three on May 24 and two on May 27.”

Automaker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Friday announced that its standalone net profit in the March quarter jumped 22 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1,548.97 crore. The automaker major’s net profit in the same quarter last year stood at Rs 1,268.55 crore.

“The tribals owned the country but even till today… our agricultural land and homes are not registered on government records. The path towards crematorium is not made of concrete and during monsoon, locals face problems in reaching the crematorium. There are five temples in the village and there are no government records. There is no wall surrounding the pond from where people fetch water, and it is a safety concern,” he said.
