While the Maharashtra prison rules and Model Prison Manual grant permission to jail authorities to screen and censor letters sent and received by prisoners for security purposes, inmates say that the power is often used arbitrarily.  The MSHRC has directed the state Home department to conduct workshops and programmes to educate officers on this, “as early as possible so that there should not be any injustice to other inmates”.

Both serve as executive producers along with Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Doug Jung. Jung is also the series showrunner. Justin Chon will direct the first two episodes and executive produce. Fifth Season and Chernin Entertainment produce, Variety reported.
