Shaakuntalam, written and directed by Gunasekhar, is based on a popular play Shakuntala by Kalidasa. The film features Samantha in the titular role of Shakuntala and actor Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty.

For the past few days, Prime Video has been teasing viewers about the release date of the much-anticipated comedy web series Panchayat Season 3. On Thursday, the makers finally unveiled the date. Starring Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa in pivotal roles, the show is all set to release on May 28. Created by The Viral Fever, Panchayat S3 is helmed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar.

Director Imtiaz Ali dissected the complex relationship shared by Amar Singh Chamkila with his first wife, Gurmail, and his second wife, Amarjot. Chamkila, a popular folk musician from Punjab, was killed alongside Amarjot by masked gunmen in the year 1988. The murders remain unsolved, and were recently dramatised by Imtiaz in the Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra.
