In a rare case, a 60-year-old woman suffering from rectal cancer suffered a bizarre reaction to antibiotics. Doctors discovered that the woman, who had started her treatment 14 months ago in Japan, had been taking minocycline, a common antibiotic used to treat the side effects of chemotherapy. According to British Medical Journal Case Reports, the woman had been consuming around 100mg of minocycline every day to prevent panitumumab-induced skin lesions that she experienced as part of the treatment.
