Facebook and Instagram took to Twitter to acknowledge the problem, but it has not been resolved until now. While the sites/apps are working fine for some, others are unable to access or login to Facebook and Instagram. Users who can log in to the platforms are also reporting problems like freezing or blackout while using the service.

The Makar Sankranti season of 2024 is set to witness an intense showdown in the Telugu states, as several high-stakes projects are ready to hit the screens. From Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram and Venkatesh Daggubati’s Saindhav to Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Naa Saami Ranga and Ravi Teja’s Eagle, several films are eyeing a January release, taking full advantage of the auspicious season.

Here’s a quick look at the other Indian entries. Sandhya Suri’s ‘Santosh’, starring Shahana Goswami is in Un Certain Regard. Karan Kandhari’s ‘Sister Midnight’, with Radhika Apte, is in the Director’s Fortnight, which runs parallel to the festival. Kapadia’s FTII batchmate Maisam Ali’s ‘In Retreat’ with Harish Khanna is in the Cannes sidebar ACID (Association for the Diffusion of Independent Cinema) programme; yet another FTII production, the short film, Chidananda Naik’s ‘Sunflowers Were The First To Know’ is in the La Cinef competition. And Bulgarian director Konstantin Bojanov’s set-in-India ‘The Shameless’ has been programmed in the Un Certain Regard. ‘Sauna Day’, a short directed by Anna Hints and Tushar Prakash, is in Critics’ Week.

“We will run this programme till this day next year. We will see the response and how it goes,” he said. On day one, the programme has collected profiles of 11 men and 10 women. Among them is Swapna Ghosh, a 65-year-old retired hotel management professional, who lost her husband five years ago and since then she has been leading a lonely life at her Kasba apartment.

Talking to a Telugu news channel, Madhapur DCP Venkateswarlu, said Sai Dharam Tej violated the speed limit. He added that while the speed limit is under 40kmph on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge, the preliminary analysis of the multiple CCTV visuals show that he was overspeeding. A case has been lodged under sections 336 and 279 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 184 of Motor Vehicles Act.

The filmmaker said that Chamkila and Guru Dutt’s characters are poles apart, even while their music is considered political. Asked about “Ishq Mitaye” in an interview with News18, he said, “It has the feeling of, as you say, Guru Dutt, that ‘yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaaye toh kya hai’, but I also feel that it has positivity. It is not ‘jala do, jala do, jala do…yeh duniya’, because the character of the poet in Pyaasa was different from the character of Chamkila in this film.”

In the short trailer, we can see Archana saying that she wants to make something of herself, and when she does, she is compelled to become Manav’s boss. Towards the end of the trailer, she says that Manav will always be her love.
