The Gujarat government Monday suspended IAS officer Aayush Oak for “grave negligence” that allegedly caused huge financial loss to the state exchequer in dealing with a revenue land matter between June 2021 and February 2024 when he was the then Surat district collector. Oak allegedly passed an order to insert the name of an individual as the tenant of a barren piece of government land worth Rs 2,000 crore.
