Leading private sector bank HDFC Wednesday issued a clarification with reference to an image of a passbook bearing a stamp of deposit insurance cover being circulated on social media that seems to have caused concern among customers. The image doing the rounds of social media shows an HDFC passbook with a stamp saying deposits in the bank up to Rs 1 lakh is insured.

“The funds raised through the sustainable finance bonds will be prioritised for lending towards electric vehicles, small and medium enterprises and affordable housing,” said Arup Rakshit, group head-treasury at HDFC Bank.

“Maara-maari karna is nicer, cleaner but this emotional bullying is killer. I hang my head in shame, that I did it. I have apologised to Supriya, she has forgiven me, I hope! We are fine,” she added.
