Dr Smriti Naswa Singh, Consultant Dermatologist & Cosmetic Dermatologist at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, explained that, unlike traditional saunas that heat the air, infrared saunas use lamps to emit infrared light that directly penetrates the skin, generating warmth. This translates to a lower temperature range (110°F – 135°F) compared to conventional saunas (150°F – 195°F).
